Abstract
Three simaroubolides, glucarubolone, holacanthone, and isobruceine A were responsible for the cytotoxic and antileukemic activities [displayed in vivo (mouse P-388 lymphocytic leukemia system) and in vitro (human KB oral carcinoma test system) activity] observed for extracts of the wood stem, stem bark and twigs of S. soulameoides. Other cytotoxic constituents isolated include a coumarinolignan cleomiscosin A and the hydroxy canthin-6-one derivative. Picrasin B was obtained, but was not active. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
