Synthesis of UnprotectedO-Glycosyl Trichloroacetimidates and Their Reactivity Towards some Glycosyl Acceptors1

Abstract
The preparation of O-unprotected sugars which are activated at the anomeric position with a trichloroacetimidate group is described. Furthermore, some examples illustrate the reactivity of these derivatives as glycosyl donors. They react with different glycosyl acceptors in the presence of an acid catalyst; the yields and the α/β-stereoselectivities depend highly on the reaction conditions.
