Abstract
In an earlier article the author presented a numerical table which permits an easy calculation of the Debye characteristic temperature at 0°K for cubic metallic elements whose elastic constants exhibit the inequality c12>c44. This table has been extended to include some cubic nonmetallic elements whose elastic constants exhibit the inequality c12<c44. The new table has been utilized in the calculation of the characteristic temperatures of diamond, Ge, and Si from their elastic constants. Keywords
