Light Scattering Study of Phase Transitions in KLiSO4

Abstract
Raman and Brillouin scattering studies have been performed on KLiSO4 single crystals. At room temperature our results well agree with the previously proposed structure (P63-phase I). Between T 1≈250–265 K and T 2≈190–200 K, the spectra are consistent with the simultaneous occurrence of two phases (I and II). Below T 2 a single phase is obtained (phase III). For phases II and III, a conventional analysis of the Raman selection rules does not lead to crystallographic structures already reported in the literature.
