Abstract
Papillary growths appeared on the atrial endocardium of dogs at sites where adjacent surfaces presumably came into contact with a reciprocating motion. It is suggested that the resulting friction stimulates the growth of papillae which then act as pedunculated ballbearings, reducing the friction. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
