Abstract
Recent technical advances permit direct genetic approaches for isolating genes and mapping auxotrophic mutations in the halophilic archaebacterium (Archea) Haloferax volcanii. Twenty-nine mutations in tryptophan biosynthesis mapped to two separate chromosomal locations. DNA sequencing of one gene cluster shows a unique gene order (trpCBA) and unusual potential secondary structures in the 5''-flanking region. This publication has 23 references indexed in Scilit:
