Abstract
Intraven. injn. of typhoid endotoxin into rabbits induced peripheral vasoconstriction dyspnea, diarrhea and fever, lasting until the preagonal stage. It is probable that the typhoid endotoxin stimulates the liberation of epinephrine or epinephrine-like substances which are responsible for the peripheral vasoconstriction. Dibenamine (N-N dibenzyl-beta-chlorethylamine) administered either before or after the injn. of endotoxin antagonizes this action. Keywords
