Abstract
The clinical and pathologic findings were described in 5 patients in whom an ante mortem diagnosis of atheroembolism was established. In 4 of these, muscle biopsies from the lower extremities proved to be a valuable diagnostic aid. Embolization of atheromatous material as an etiologic factor in renal insufficiency, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and peripheral vascular disease was emphasized. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
