Metabolism of Human Leukocytes in vitro V. Inhibition by Human Serum of Formate and Glycine Incorporation.

Abstract
Normal serum contains heat stable, ether insoluble substance(s) of small molecular weight which inhibit the in vitro uptake of radioactive formate and glycine into the gross protein fraction of all types of leukemic leukocytes to an appreciable and approximately equal extent. Leukemic sera demonstrate a slightly subnormal inhibitor activity.
