Abstract
It is shown, by means of an expansion formula, that Feynman's partition function for liquid helium exhibits a second-order lambda transition. The validity of the expansion is discussed and it is shown that it is very likely to be valid for the case under consideration. A discussion is also given of some general properties of Feynman's partition function. Keywords
