Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 19-year-old man was admitted to the hospital for a second renal transplant.He was well until the age of 14 years, when the nephrotic syndrome developed. Prednisone, 60 mg daily, was given. The edema improved, but the proteinuria increased over the ensuing six months to a level of excretion of 12 to 14 g daily. At that time the urine gave a + + + + test for protein, and the sediment contained 10 red cells per high-power field, with fatty and waxy casts.
