Long-term adaptive changes in primate vestibuloocular reflex. I. Behavioral observations.

Abstract
Long term adaptive changes were studied in the primate (Macaca mulatta) vestibuloocular reflex [VOR] when the visual input associated with head movements is disturbed by various optical devices. In the monkey the VOR is apparently a plastic system, which is subject to visually mediated, long-term adaptive regulation; these processes function to adjust the performance of the system so a stable retinal image is preserved during head turns.
