Abstract
The fungus-inoculated leaflets of 39 Caragana species have been found to variously produce five isoflavonoid phytoalexins including the known pterocarpan derivatives, medicarpin, maackiain, variabilin and pisatin. Small quantities of a previously undescribed C-methylated pterocarpan were obtained from leaflets of C. acanthophylla. Keywords
