The Effects of a "Don't Know" Response on Palmore's Facts on Aging Quizzes

Abstract
Four groups of undergraduate students completed one of four versions of Palmore's Facts on Aging (FAQ) quizzes to test the effects of a “don't know” (DK) answer. The findings suggest that a OK option yields more accurate scores of knowledge of aging, eliminates guessing, and enhances the use of the FAQ as a research instrument and as a pre/post evaluation of training in aging.
