Abstract
It is shown that in a nonlinear Heisenberg-type theory a bound state appears which has all the properties of a neutral vector particle. From such a model all the results of standard electrodynamics follow in the limit of infinite bare coupling constant. The method used is that of Schwinger's external sources. Keywords
