Abstract
Twenty-six of 55 members and pledges of a college fraternity became infected with Mycoplasma pneumoniae over a three-week period in the fall of 1968. The epidemic curve suggested a common source of exposure. The only period in which members and pledges shared a common environment before the outbreak was on a single day when all were present at a catered banquet for pledge initiation ceremonies. The precise source and means of infection could not be identified. Keywords
