Charge-transfer cross sections for asymmetric collisions of protons with carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, neon, and argon

Abstract
In the distorted-wave formalism we have proposed a modification in the peaking-impulse approximation suitable for asymmetric collisions. Using this method we have calculated the charge-transfer cross section for K-K capture in collisions of protons with carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, neon, and argon in the energy range of 0.1520.0 MeV. The present modified peaking-impulse approximation, amenable to exact calculations for the transition amplitude, reproduces results in favorable agreement with observed data and existing theoretical results.
