AMPHIBIAN OVULATIONIN VITROINDUCED BY MAMMALIAN PITUITARY HORMONES AND PROGESTERONE1

Abstract
The effect of various hormones on ovulation in vitro was studied with ovarian fragments from Rana pipiens. It was found that progesterone, interstitial cell-stimulating hormone and growth hormone induced ovulation under the conditions of the experiments, whereas follicle-stimulating hormone and prolactin were inactive.
