Abstract
PARA-AMINOBENZOIC acid was first reported in the treatment of louse-borne rickettsial diseases in 1942 by Snyder and his associates.1 After experimental work on the Rickettsia of Rocky Mountain spotted fever by Hamilton, Plotz and Smadel2 among others, its subsequent use in the treatment of human beings was reported by Rose et al.3 and other investigators.
