Clinical and Laboratory Findings in Cases of Respiratory Illness Caused by Coryzaviruses

Abstract
Several viruses or groups of viruses have been recovered in tissue culture from cases of common cold. These include the ECHO 28 (2060-JH) viruses of Pelon, Mogabgab, Phillips, and Pierce (1, 2) and of Price (3), the rhinoviruses of Tyrrell, Bynoe, and Taylor-Robinson (4, 5), the coryzaviruses of Hamparian, Ketler, and Hilleman (6), and miscellaneous similar viruses described by other workers (7-9). Present data (10) suggest that all these agents belong in a single ECHO 28-rhino-virus-coryzavirus (ERC) group.
