Abstract
A new electron donor vinylogue-BMDT–TTF 5 [2,2′-ethanediylidenebis(1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene)] has been synthesized (overall yield from 8 16%). The compound represents a structural modification of the molecular framework that has led to highly conducting, even superconducting, organic charge transfer (CT) complexes. Like other tetrathiafulvalene (TTF)-based donors 5 undergoes a reversible two-electron oxidation as shown by cyclic voltammetry. Keywords
