Abstract
We consider a wireless system with multiple channels where each channel is either on or off, and probing the state of any channel incurs a cost. We present a polynomial time algorithm that determines which channels to probe and also which channel to transmit so as to maximize the difference between the rate of successful transmissions and the cost incurred in probing. Keywords
