Abstract
Atomic lifetimes have been measured for the series 3snf3F perturbed by 3p3d3F in Al II and for the series 2snd1D perturbed by 2p21D in Be I by the beam-foil technique. The experimental results are compared with theoretical data based upon configuration interaction calculations, and discrepancies are discussed. Keywords
