Abstract
The cross section for K-shell ionization in nickel, silver and gold by electrons of energy between 3 and 30 MeV has been measured by counting the K X-rays produced. The results are compared with a virtual-photon calculation using two different forms for the X-ray photoeffect cross section and also with the theory of Kolbenstvedt (1967).Keywords
