Abstract
Summary: Peritoneal exudate cells from guinea pigs exhibiting delayed hypersensitivity to tuberculin and from normal animals were mixed in varying proportions, and their migration in the presence of specific antigens was studied. The results indicate that only a few cells in a mixed population need be specifically sensitive to influence the behavior of the whole population. Killing the sensitive cells abolishes their effect on normal cells. Some questions raised by these results are discussed. Keywords
