Abstract
The occurrence of laticifers in the Cyclanthaceae is documented for the 1st time. Laticifers of C. bipartitus are nonarticulated, thin-walled, elongate cells which possess occasional branching. One new criterion for assessing degrees of [evolutionary] relationship between Cyclanthus and other taxa, especially the Carludovicoideae and Araceae, is provided. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
