Abstract
Twelve lipophilic, sulphur-containing reagents have been used as ionophores in solvent polymeric membrane electrodes containing copper(II) ions. Three gave an acceptable linear response in the copper(II) activity range 10–5–10–3 M with a near-Nernstian slope and high selectivity towards other transition metal ions. The optimum amount of dithizone (ionophore VI) in the membrane was established. Keywords
