Abstract
The modern era of diuretic therapy has witnessed revolutionary improvement in our ability to manage disorders characterized by abnormal fluid retention. With the advent of agents that differ in mechanism and potency, treatment can be tailored more precisely to each patient's clinical condition. The proper use of diuretics in the context of congestive heart failure is discussed. Keywords
