Abstract
A syndrome closely resembling diabetes insipidus was produced in 4 mongrel dogs by daily injns. of cortisone in doses of 50-300 mg. a day. The period of hormone injn. varied from 4-14 days in different dogs. The polydipsia reached values as high as 6200 cc./day and the polyuria as high as 5790 cc./day. Frequent fasting blood sugar detns. and glucose tolerance tests did not reveal any changes in carbohydrate metabolism. Keywords
