Abstract
The magnetic and NMR properties of Zr1−xGdxZn2 (0≤x≤0.05) have been investigated to clarify the influence of localized magnetic moments on conduction electron ferromagnet ZrZn2. The dependence of magnetization intensity of Gd concentration shows that the Gd atoms are S states and the spin polarization of conduction electrons by a localized Gd moment does not take place. Moreover, ferromagnetism would disappear above x=0.025. The hyperfine field of Zr in ZrZn2 is −38 kOe, and is remarkably less than usual for transition metals. This result is explained by assuming mixing of the 4d and 5s wavefunctions. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
