Abstract
Lateral flagella have been demonstrated to occur on young cells of Alginomonas alginica. Older cells are without flagella or have single polar flagella. Therefore, transfer of the species from the Pseudomonadales to a genus of the Eubacteriales containing alginolytic species is appropriate. Physiological properties of the isolate place it in the family Achromobacteraceae. Therefore, Agarbacterium alginicum (Waksman et al.) Adams is considered the appropriate name for Alginomonas alginica (Waksman et al.) Kass et al..Keywords
