Abstract
Recognition of osteoid osteoma requires meticulous scrutiny of x-rays of fine technical quality. When vertebral involvement occurs, a secondary scoliosis often develops. Even when plain films are diagnostic, laminagrams usually should be made to show more clearly the extent of sclerosis and to accurately locate the lucent central nidus. Surgical excision of the nidus must be complete to avoid recurrence of pain and progression of radiographic changes. Keywords
