Abstract
Images can be produced showing the spatial distribution of almost any physical variable; in medicine that variable might be the x-ray attenuation coefficient or ultrasonic acoustic impedance. Applied potential tomography (APT) is a method for producing images of electrical impedance; its alternative titles are 'Electrical impedance imaging', 'Conductivity imaging' or 'Impedance computed tomography'.Keywords
