Abstract
The N4,5 Auger spectrum of Sm (4d10 4f5) excited by AlKα radiation or by 4.8 keV electrons has been analysed. The influence of these excitation modes is discussed. The presence of an additional peak in the electron induced spectrum is explained by invoking an autoionization transition in which the initial state is the 4d9 4f5 + 1 excited atomKeywords
