Abstract
We examine the general kink-antikink (bion) collision process in the driven damped sine-Gordon equation. A collective-coordinate method is used to study several aspects of the bion dissociation and annihilation. Thresholds for the driving term are numerically obtained in both cases. The limitations and reliability of our reducing approach are discussed. Keywords
