Abstract
Using laboratory reared and field collected specimen, scent scale substances of male Pieris melete were investigated along with age of butterfly and time of day.Two compounds not identified beforem geraniol and nerol, were found in the extract. It was also shown that the relative abundance of four components, neral, geranial, nerol and geraniol, differed considerably depending upon the biological condtion of male butterfly. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
