Abstract
Shell-model analysis is applied to configurations containing both and nucleons. Energy levels of excited configurations (often recognized by their parity being opposite to that of the ground state) as well as binding energies are considered. Good agreement is obtained which gives support to the -coupling scheme. The results obtained are used for calculating other levels. In particular, the modes of excitation of the first excited 0+ level in and the ½- level in are determined.
