Abstract
Extract Papular stomatitis is a specific disease of cattle caused by a pox-like virus (Plowright and Ferris, 1959 Plowright, W. and Ferris, R. D. 1959. Papular stomatitis of cattle in Kenya and Nigeria. Vet. Rec., 71: 718–722. [Google Scholar] ). It has been known for many years, and in all probability has a world-wide distribution, but the following report concerns the first record of this disease in New Zealand. Although a disease of minor importance, correct diagnosis is necessary in the differential diagnosis of the more serious diseases of cattle in which erosive or vesicular lesions of the oral cavity occur. Keywords
