Abstract
Temporally and spectrally resolved measurements of backscattered light at fundamental and 2nd harmonic are presented. Spherical targets (70-250 mu m dia, z=3-50) are irradiated with a single beam from a Nd glass laser at irradiances of I approximately 5-50*1014 W cm-2. The results show the presence of stimulated Brillouin scattering and other mechanisms. Calorimeter data shows reduced backscatter from high Z targets. Keywords
