Incidence of Metastatic Well-Differentiated Thyroid Cancer in Cervical Lymph Nodes

Abstract
Well-differentiated thyroid cancer has an excellent prognosis. Papillary carcinoma has a 10-year survival rate of over 90%, while the 10-year survival rate for follicular carcinoma is greater than 85%.1,2 Clinically apparent cervical lymphadenopathy has been found at initial presentation in 23% to 56% of cases of papillary carcinoma and 5% to 13% of cases of follicular carcinoma.3-5
