Abstract
These quantitative studies upon the fauna of certain streams in Yorkshire give a numerical statement of variations in numbers of individuals and sp. inhabiting 7 different types of stream-bed. The stream-bed types, methods of collecting, manner of analysis of samples, % composition, and actual numerical population per unit area by taxonomic groups for each environment studied are given, together with notes on biological relations of each group. Attention is given to food relations of aquatic invertebrates, including facts which bear upon the food of fishes. The groups studied are Ephemerop-tera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Mollusca, Oligochaeta, Arachnida, and Crustacea. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
