Abstract

Using a practical example, the principal advantages of a longer open tubular column at higher flow rates as compared with a shorter column operated at optimum are demonstrated. Speed of analysis, efficiency, and sample capacity values are compared, and methods of calculation permitting such comparisons are discussed.
