Nevus Sebaceus of Jadassohn

Abstract
Recent reports in the literature have defined a new neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by the association of sebaceous nevi, convulsive disorders, and multiple developmental abnormalities. We have recently observed two patients with nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn associated with malformations of the eye. Although neither of our patients has demonstrated any neurologic disorder as yet, we feel they may represent a variant of this new syndrome. Dermatologists have long been aware of the importance of nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn as a lesion which may undergo benign or malignant change. It is now apparent that the presence of an organoid nevus may serve as a sign of multiple ectodermal and mesodermal malformations.
