Abstract
The effects of autumn (prior to bloom), spring (mid-bloom) and summer (post-‘June- drop’) girdles on fruit size were determined. Other than the effect on fruit number, it was found that autumn girdles reduced fruit size, spring girdles had little effects, but those done in summer increased fruit size. Based on these observations, a sequence is proposed of the major events and effects occurring in the tree after girdling. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
