Ectopic skin lesions produced by Schistosoma mansoni

Abstract
A case of ectopic thoracic localization of Schistosoma mansoni in a person who had a positive (+) bilharzine skin test and a positive (++) cercarienhüllen reaction is described. Rectal biopsy and fecal examination by the Stoll egg-count technique revealed no schistosome eggs, The possible mechanism of the production of this lesion is discussed.
