Abstract
Previous workers have shown that 2-acetyl-7-oxo-1,2,3,4,4a,4b,5,6,7,9,10,10a-dodecahydro-phenanthrene has anti- androgenic, androgenic, and antigonadotrophic properties. The data presented in this report indicate that: a) this phenanthrene derivative does not antagonize the antigonadotrophic activity of testosterone propionate, b) the compound manifests significant antiandrogenic activity against the effects of increased endogenous androgen resulting from the administration of chorionic gonadotrophin, and c) the preparation does not inhibit the androgenicity of norethandrolone or norandrostenolone phenylpropionate. Keywords
