Abstract
A CHARACTERISTIC feature of the post‐war scene in this country and Western Europe generally is the enormous growth of the light passenger vehicle powered by small 2‐stroke petrol engines. This type of power unit has augmented the existing millions of 4‐stroke engines and, besides motor cycles, ‘mopeds’, scooters and ‘bubble cars’ is used for industrial and farm equipment such as concrete mixers, vibrators, power saws, cultivators, lawn mowers and almost exclusively for the outboard motors of small sea and river craft. Keywords
