Political programs on national television networks: 1960 and 1964

Abstract
Every four years American television program schedules are disrupted, some additional revenues flow into the hands of broadcasters, and the public is again given the opportunity to witness the many forms of political broadcasting. During the 1964 presidential campaign, this opportunity occured an average of twice a day, for a total of fifty minutes on the networks alone. This figure only includes programs of five minutes or longer, and does not include spot announcements. Whether this much opportunity is desirable, or even bearable, is left to the individual reader.
