Abstract
Iron(II) protoporphyrin, FeIIPP, is reduced by e– aq and CO˙– 2 in aqueous solutions to FeIPP, which might be present in aqueous solutions as FeIIIPP—H. The spectrum of the short-lived intermediate and the kinetics of its decomposition into FeIIIPP + H2 are reported. The free radicals ˙CH2OH, ˙CH(CH3)OH and ˙C(CH3)2OH react with FeIIPP forming FeIIIPP—CR1R2OH; the spectra of these intermediates, which decompose into FeIIIPP + HCR1R2OH, are reported.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
