Polarization effects in four-photon conductivity in quartz

Abstract
We report on photoconductivity in SiO2 induced by the absorption of four Nd‐glass laser photons in the intensity domain of 108 W/cm2. The relative cross section for circular versus linear polarization of the laser photons is found to be 2.05±0.9.Keywords
